Starting this year, I will try to make an update once a month about where we stand in regards to our myriad projects. Here’s an overview of what February with FTH Scans will look like!

The Bad News – Dropped

We will no longer be doing Kandachime. The raws we were able to obtain were not of the quality we normally like to work with and there was a general lack of interest within the group and with my friend who was translating to have to fight over working on Kandachime with the other group working on it.

Gou-dere Bishoujo Nagihara Sora is going to be listed as stalled. There’s been no official word on the 2nd volume of the manga being released, and we are not happy with the scale and quality of currently available public raws. As soon as a 2nd volume is announced and acquired, we will resume this manga.

Also somewhat bad news, in staff changes dr.pepper has been let go for causing conflicts with members and other groups that negatively impacted our ability to function as a group. We wish dr.pepper luck in his future endeavors and hope that his attitude won’t get him in any further trouble down the line.

 

What We’re Caught Up On

Koimoku will be caught up to the latest available chapter this week. We will be moving to regularly scheduled releases of this manga. The number of chapters that appear for this manga in each issue of Comic Valkyrie has not settled on a set number yet, so when the issue comes in a schedule will be set for releasing.

Likewise, Freezing: First Chronicle is also caught up as of this week and we will be regularly scheduling releases for that as well. The number of chapters per issue of Comic Valkyrie is not set, so the schedule is not yet determined.

Please keep in mind, Comic Valkyrie is released every even month of the year. There is no issue of Valkyrie for March 2012, or any other odd numbered month. We will do our best to schedule releases to minimize downtime between releases, NOT to release chapters as quickly as possible.

 

What’s Catching Up

In our plans to catch up on for the month of February is Unbreakable Machine Doll. We are currently 2 chapters behind as of the end of January. After February we should move to regular monthly releases of Machine Doll.

We now have yet another dedicated editor working on Freezing. We hope to catch up on this series but cannot commit to a release rate at this time.

Gaiakitan is considerably behind and we’re content with keeping pace with the magazine for this series. We may try to release more chapters to catch up further in the future.

Sengoku Strays likewise is considerably behind. Sleepiez has agreed to do a chapter per month, which will keep pace with the magazine releases for this series. Chapter 13 will be released on February 21.

 

Back From the Dead

Previously stalled projects Aria the Scarlet Ammo and Necrophile of Darkside Sister will be returning from hiatus as MamiCircular has returned to his usual translation duties with us after taking time off for personal reasons. Look forward to releases for these projects mid-to-late February. Kampfer is also returning with a new translator. Editing help is needed for this series!

Work on the 2nd volume of Belief & Sex should start some time this month. We possess the volume, but it needs to be scanned. It may resume mid-to-late February or early March depending on Juhachi’s availability.

XX Me! will be resuming from Volume 7. This will overlap some of what we have already done from the magazine raws. We were increasingly unhappy with the work that had to be put into the Nakayosi magazine raws so we decided to return to using self-acquired volume raws. Apologies to all the fans of WxxS out there who have been waiting or checking out Nimakka’s spoilers in the meantime. We had to make this decision to save our sanity. We have one editor dedicating time specifically to this project, so hopes are that it will be caught up promptly.

New Projects

We have 4 new projects that will be starting in the near future. The first I’d like to announce is Hanamizawa Q-Tarou’s REC. This will be an FTH solo undertaking with proofreading by XLG’s gringe for consistency with their previous work. We will also be starting a new series from Comic Valkyrie called Enma no Hanayome (or Bride of Enma if you’re so inclined) which looks to be a romantic comedy about an unpopular boy who is forced into a relationship with a bombastic, over the top, and obscenely cute girl who’s first declaration to her new classmates is “I came to this school to search for a partner to marry.” Both of these additions will be translated by Dakanya, who is new to the group. Please be sure to give him a warm welcome when these new projects land!

Also coming soon will be the ever popular Seishun Pop! which we’ve been granted permission to continue by the fine lads over at Kono-Basho. A new translator who goes by Animefreak114 will be translating this for us on a trial basis.

The fabulous GottErstechen007 has been translating Star Carving Dragonar for us religiously since we announced the project. The ball’s been in our court to get the edits done, but it’s been a painstakingly slow process. This series really needs an editor willing to dedicate serious time to it. Needless to say, we plan to finally release our version of the first chapter of this Comic Alive mainstay in early February.

Finally, we’d like to add the ever famous MM! written by the recently deceased Akinari Matsuno. Despite the original author of the novels dying, this manga is being continued by Media Factory to an original ending. It also has an anime which I highly recommend watching if you enjoy slapstick humor mixed with a little sexual deviancy! We currently do not have a translator lined up for this series, but a possible joint is in the works.
